So everyone’s been wondering what the motivation could be for Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq.’s obsession with proving President Obama is not a “natural born” citizen and therefore not eligible to serve as president.

Taitz, also known as batshit crazy Orly and the Queen of the Birthers, has been amusing us all for some time now, what with her fractured English and her ridiculous legal filings and her penchant for calling her critics brownshirts and Nazis.

But why, we wondered, is this woman so hell-bent on proving the lie?

I think I may have found it.

Remember, Orly is a transplanted Israeli. In fact, she’s now winding up a month-long vacation in Israel where she is visiting her parents. (They must be so proud.) And while she’s there, she’s doing the press tour thing, talking to a number of outlets including Ha’aretz.

This is how the Ha’aretz article, printed online today, begins:

U.S. President Barack Obama’s domestic and foreign policies pose “a clear and present danger to Israel,” says the driving force behind the campaign to prove Obama was not born in the United States and therefore ineligible to serve as president.

The article briefly touches on Taitz’s effort to show Obama is not eligible to be president, but is more focused on what Taitz believes are Obama’s threats to Israel.

“During the campaign, Obama was telling American Jews that he is for Israel… but sure enough, just as he was elected, look at his first actions, he issued an executive order to give $900 million to Gaza with no preconditions.”

Taitz says that the money given to Hamas, which “has declared war on Israel and the United States,” will not be used to help the people of the Gaza Strip but rather to build Qassam rockets, posing a serious threat to the State of Israel.

She believes Obama poses a threat to Israel not only because of his support of radical Islamic groups such as Hamas, but also because of his “radical socialist” policies, that will bring the United States to “totalitarianism and Stalinism.” According to Taitz, these policies “pose a threat to all democracies, not only Israel.”

I really think this is it. Taitz sees Obama as a threat to Israel, so therefore he must be de-legitimized.

Speaking of illegitimate, in the article Taitz said she’s not ruling out a run for American elected office. That should be loads of fun, huh?
